Javelina: Pathfinder Pendant
Courage, Protection, Self-reliance, Challenge
The javelina, also called a collared peccary or musk-hog, has a scent so strong you can smell the animal long before you see it!
Javelinas live in large family groups or herds, to defend their territories from coyotes, bobcats and mountain lion predators.
Evolving in South America, javelinas now thrive in the desert scrublands of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.
As herbivores, javelinas eat desert plants. They love to eat prickly pear cacti, devouring the fruit right along with the spines!
